Rand-Air has partnered with many customers to commission and test newly completed installations. We offer the temporary rental of generators when utilities have not been connected for new projects. Temporary generator rental is ideal when new/repaired machinery must be tested and your facility does not offer a sufficient power supply.
We can offer a temporary compressed air supply to test completed infrastructure/piping installations. Testing is essential for fire protection installation piping and many of our customers make use of our smaller XAS diesel range of compressors to test and certify their installations: No power on-site, no problem our diesel-driven range of compressors keep you going.
Fluid and Gas Pipeline Integrity needs to be tested, and the pipelines dried prior to hand over. Our 100% Oil-Free Diesel driven range of compressors and driers are the perfect solution.
Rand-Air supplies Class Zero for the commissioning of Pipeline
When the 865-kilometer gas pipeline linking the gas fields in Mozambique to the network in South Africa was built Rand-Air was a critical supplier. This pipeline cuts across four provinces in South Africa, namely, Mpumalanga, Free State, Gauteng, Kwa-Zulu Natal, and North West, and with our national footprint, we were the logical choice. Prior to completion of the project the pipeline had to be dried and commissioned prior to hand over to the long-standing petrochemical customer, Rand-Air was again contacted to supply our class zero compressor and drier packages. Moving along the pipeline was made easy as the PTS range of compressors is portable, and the pressure and volume can be adjusted according to requirements.
Rand-Air partners with Research Organization
A Research Organization in South Africa recently hired a PNS1250 from Rand-Air. The Organization’s suite of wind tunnels provides an engineering test, measurement, and evaluation foundation to the aerodynamic design efforts of the South African aeronautical industry. The wind tunnels include a closed-circuit sub-sonic tunnel, a transonic tunnel, a transonic tunnel, and a large test section open-circuit low-speed tunnel. When the organization required specialized high-pressure oil-free air for their wind tunnel, they contacted Rand-Air. Our PNS Range was the answer.
Rand-Air assists mining equipment manufacturer to test new equipment
A major mining equipment manufacturer had to test its range of portable mining units at the Gerotek testing facility but required power to run these units. They called Rand-Air to assist. We supplied a QAS500 kVa generator, removed it from its trailer, and mounted it to a large truck to ensure the equipment could be tested at speed on the testing track; prior to hand over to the end-user.
